Childhood is finite at just shy of 9.5 million minutes. We only get one shot at it. One of the biggest decisions we make is how we will use that time. Research has confirmed time and time again that what children are naturally and unabashedly drawn to, unrestricted outside play, contributes extensively to every area of childhood development. The importance here cannot be understated. Every year we... more

I LOVE the 1000 hours podcast! This show has truly been a lifeline for me as I navigate how to best parent in this crazy world. • Needs better interviewing skills

I used to love Ginny’s interviews. I would listen to the new episode everyday. I still follow the 1kho lifestyle for my children, but the podcast has become the same in each episode. Ginny hosts fabulous guests, but she ends up talking over them the whole time, summarizing what they talk about in their books rather than asking structured interview questions. I’m sick of hearing “I have 10 pages of notes about this… can we talk about this______?” As she proceeds to share about what she thinks on ... more

  • Great, but a bit repetitive

To say I’m a fan of this podcast is an understatement. I listen regularly, my TBR list has grown exponentially, and what I’ve learned frequently comes up in my every day conversations. That being said, since Ginny has started putting out daily content, I find the episode topics and guests becoming quite repetitive. Ginny has said on air that people tend to not go back to listen to older episodes and she wonders why. But with the almost daily output, how would anyone ever have time to go back and... more

  • Mixed Feelings

Ginny has been a great influence on me as a mom and this was once one of my favorite podcasts. Even though I have different political and religious beliefs, I still thought she and her guests had a lot of great tips and points of view to offer. However, I feel it has recently become too “MAHA mom” and is spreading a lot of misinformation and right wing quackery/pseudoscience about seed oils, etc.
