Just listened to The Black Cat. The narrator sounded like a robot. No emotion or inflection at all. Lack of pauses between paragraphs. Super awkward to listen to.
You are sounding like a school teacher yelling at kids or reading story in a flat tone .. this is so Ridiculous to see how Apple approved ur voice for something as epic as stories by Edgar Allan Poe .u need to have a husky deep whispering voice with a lot of twists while narrating it … m so annoyed right now
These stories are so right and spooky for next Halloween 👻
Some beautifully spoken chapters. Perfectly paced too. My utter terror of being buried alive. My claustrophobia would be nightmarish. 'The Really Dead'. the horror.
Couldn’t get past a couple minutes - needs a different narrator for sure.
She sounds like a news reporter and doesn't sound like she's interested in reading poe
It’s hard to focus on the story. The voice “acting” it fake and preppy. Doesn’t match the story AT ALL. It’s like she’s reading to a happy story to children. Not the dark deep voice Edgar Allan Poe Stories need.
Each story is read by a different narrator, and everyone is clearly trying their best and some are fantastic! The sound recording isn’t the best, but, the tales are read aloud and are still delightful as the writing is so amazing!
🥱🥱🥱😴
Some beautifully spoken chapters. Perfectly paced too.
If only they could have chosen someone with a more....well I just can’t listen to her. Terrible narration. 😖
Great stories ruined by bad quality and monotone voice.
Her intonation was all wrong. She sounded very bored and didn’t emphasize the right words. In my opinion, Poe should be read from the heart, especially the stories. The creepiness all comes from the way it’s read and it didn’t come across at all.
No respect is given to the works of Poe. Stiff, loud and with no emotion nor atmosphere the stories are butchered one by one.
One of the worst series for all the wrong reasons. Stay away. Find the stories of Poe in any other way possible.
I love EAP, but the narrators voice was painful and grating. I lasted perhaps 10 seconds into the first Ep. I won't be listening to any more, as long as the narrator remains the same.
