  • Awesome Tech Information, Too Political

These guys definitely know tech. I have enjoyed many of their podcasts. But I stopped listening when every episode had political commentary.

There are plenty of podcasts where divisive politics is discussed. If these guys want to create a podcast to do that, awesome, have fun. But leave it out of tech discussions.

  • Best Nerdy Tech Show

The 3 (2.5) admin gentlemen are a joy to listen to. Great charisma between the hosts. A little bit of news kinda like the daily show but more knowledge base than that. If you wanna keep up to date with IT security news and get a good laugh, check them out. They even do some free consulting at the end. I look forward to each week’s show.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

2.5 Admins 275: G-word
Q: Where do you find incredible deals on older laptops mentioned?
The hosts suggest searching eBay and Facebook Marketplace, as some places recycle machines and sell them at low prices.
2.5 Admins 274: Go Go Gadget Windows
Q: What alternative solutions can be used for ZFS compatibility in a VMware environment?
Veeam is a strong option for backing up VMs in a VMware environment with ZFS. There are also alternatives like Baccala for those seeking free solutions.
2.5 Admins 274: Go Go Gadget Windows
Q: Does this seem like a good idea in terms of both security and maintainability?
Combining all devices into a single network segment with WireGuard can be effective if proper firewall rules are established.
2.5 Admins 273: Reliability Tracking
Q: Would you recommend using a mini PC in this case, or just a VM with GPU pass through from my much stronger main machine?
For security, I would definitely recommend the dedicated PC. With that said, I wouldn't yell at you for just RDP-ing from your main computer if your work allows it.
2.5 Admins 272: NVMe Surprise
Q: Should I continue to make each drive bootable, or could I dedicate a single SSD for boot and OS duty?
It's not really a big downside to have a less efficient topology for your root file system, but having a separate boot SSD is sensible.
