A History of the Space Race podcast is a wonderful deep dive into the entire history of the Space Race between the United States and the Soviets. Narrator and author Albert Lai starts from the very beginning giving the context leading up to Sputnik’s launch and ends with the Apollo-Soyuz mission. This podcast is for anyone that wants to learn everything about the Space Race as there is so much information here. But don’t think it’s boring in the slightest - Lai tells the story of the missions wi... more
This a superb account of the Space Race from both the U.S. and Soviet perspectives. The podcast is well written and engagingly narrated. Mr. Lai shines a light on the details of this story, many of which were new to me, and also takes time to sketch out the geopolitical landscape in which these events took place. Mr. Lai’s accounts of the technical and scientific challenges, bureaucratic battles, and domestic and international politics of the Space Race are even-handed and insightful.

This is a really great podcast for those who want to leaen more about the era of space race. The thing that i like the most, is that the author sometimes adds in political context, so we understand the reasons why certain events happen, instead of solely focusing on the esploration of space. Thanks so much to the aouthor!
A good history series, mixture of audio formats, fairly dry narration but enjoyable.
