  • If you love the story, you will love this podcast-

Amazing podcast. Knowledgeable guests; Matt is an excellent host with tremendous interviewing skills. I’ve been an amateur student of the Civil War for many years- yet I still learn fascinating details and nuances with each listen. My only regret is being a latecomer- but as a patron I have access to many hours of past programs to enjoy!

Ask A Gettysburg Guide #118- The 20th Massachusetts- Ralph Siegel and Zack Fry

Ask A Gettysburg Guide #118- The 20th Massachusetts- Ralph Siegel and Zack Fry
Q: Did the 20th Massachusetts have anything notable, kind of like maybe something oddball, like what the 8th Wisconsin did?
The 20th Massachusetts did not have a mascot like the 8th Wisconsin's eagle, but they did have a lot of dogs with them.
Ask A Gettysburg Guide #116- Army of the Potomac After Gettysburg- with Lewis Trott
Q: Do you think that Meade, having lost Hancock and Reynolds, two very strong leaders, might have made him a little more cautious in everything after Gettysburg?
It could have. The performance of French at Manassas Gap wasn't great, and with Newton in charge of a diminished First Corps, there could be hesitation in engaging the enemy again.
Ask A Gettysburg Guide #114 | Cutler's Brigade | Charlie Fennell
Q: Did Cutler have a bad PR team or what? They hardly get the publicity of Buford or the Iron Brigade.
Cutler's Brigade is often overshadowed, despite performing well and firing the first shot.
