  • Host audio quality

I am starting to really enjoy the content in these podcasts (after becoming aware though my ASME membership).

However, the host's microphone audio quality is absolutely horrible. This makes it very hard for me (and I assume other people with mild audio sensitivity) to fully digest the content.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Additive Manufacturing’s Humble Beginnings at Ford
Q: Did you have any mentors along your professional journey?
My biggest influencers in life was my mom and dad, who never stifled our creativity. At work, my biggest mentor was Merrill Hall, who encouraged me to prove my worth as the first woman in the maintenance team lead job at Ford.
A Coatings Primer
Q: What do you wish more engineers knew or understood about building coatings and their capabilities?
Engineers should consider the lifetime cost of coatings rather than just the initial cost, as durable options can be more cost-effective in the long run due to reduced maintenance and labor costs.
A New Generation of Rebar
Q: What are you guys envisioning right now as sort of the cost difference between standard Rebar and your solution?
Our material might cost around $2 per pound compared to $1 for conventional carbon steel Rebar, but with its longevity, it offers a much better return on investment.
A New Generation of Rebar
Q: Can you kind of talk me through how the process works?
The process involves putting the cladding on an intermediate product called a billet, which undergoes hot rolling to produce the rebar.
Setbacks are Part of the Engineering Process
Q: If you had one message you would like to convey to people, what would that be?
You don't have to be the perfect student to be worthy of investment, as life will have its challenges.
