  • Possibly lost its way

The latest little series, about a teenage Satanist failed to explain what Satanism is and in what way the youth’s behaviour was aligned with Satanism. I have absolutely no axe to grind on the subject of Satanism because I know nothing about it and having listened to this I still know nothing. So a clickbait headline and no substance which is a fair description of most of the Internet, but extremely disappointing from the BBC.

  • Misleading title

I liked this a lot but at no point does the presenter/journalist properly delineate why these boys are defined as satanists. I’m not saying there wasn’t evidence of satanic practice, but in a world of hyper Christian fundamentalism, and the stains of Satanic panic still haunting a lot of discourse, it seems a bit reckless to mention Satanism so boldly in the title without then clearly defining the ways in which this group was actively ‘satanic’. The tenets of satanism actually say not to hurt ot... more

  • Incomprehensible

I listened to the first 10 minutes of the first episode of the new season, and the rapid pacing with random quotes from multiple people had the feel of an introductory summary, which I thought it was. It was only when I passed the 15 minute mark that I realised this was the actual podcast. Unnecessary and distracting background music, too many interviewees chopped into tiny soundbites without understanding who they are or the context. A potentially interesting story completely let down by a rush... more
