I've no idea what the point of preserving this material was. As has been said in another review, it seems to just be Mandarin phrases read out with no explanation as to what the phrases mean in English. As such, it is of no use whatsoever to anybody hoping to learn Mandarin from a course entitled, "Beginning Chinese".
You can follow small sentences and improve pronunciation. For me, it was perfect 👌
