在信義區的高樓之間，前臺北機廠展開一片截然不同的風景。巨大的廠房、交錯的鋼樑、老窗透進的光線，都成為國家鐵道博物館的新舞台。走進柴電工場，白色莒光號率先映入眼簾。S212柴電機車的外殼被吊起，內部的齒輪與線圈一覽無遺。這裡的展覽不只呈現技術，也把電影、文學與歌謠中的鐵道記憶重新串起，讓機械與情感在同一個空間裡被看見。未來組立工場與南側園區將陸續開放，讓這座鐵道基地逐步回到城市的生活動線中。
