  • Podcast good, advertising appalling.

The Byline Podcast is trivialised by its associated advertising: gambling, AI, boom-your-business and so on. As if the content were a mere posture, dancing before capitalism’s drooling hellmouth. Hence three stars for the company kept…

  • Brilliant Journalism

This is a searching and informative podcast. The latest one is an account by Dr Nick Maynard on his work with the people of Gaza. This harrowing first person account of bravery and compassion in terribly dangerous conditions. He teaches medical students as a consultant surgeon. His humanitarian work is an example of extraordinary courage. I am in no doubt that his account is honest and accurate. Israel is committing war crimes and genocide on a desperate civilian population and our Government’s ... more

  • Why?

Adrian why are you avoiding talking about the genocide in Gaza? It’s shocking to see that no other important podcaster is either. There are a number of genocide scholars … Prof Martin Shaw is the best known in the UK. Why aren’t you talking to him. What is it that is stopping the podcast media from discussing the issue?

    Thanks

I figured it would just be a regurgitation of right-wing tropes, an unthinking echoing of the anti-Biden ageist narrative put out by Fox News, the New York Times, Russian bots etc. The Economist has fallen for the ageist tropes, as has the New Statesman, Campbell and Stewart and a few others. I’ve had enough. Why don’t they critically check the source of these “Biden is too ... more
