Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Thin Margins, Thinner Centre Depth
Q: How did those elite Canucks teams you played for avoid the complacency sneaking in at different points of the year?
It's hard to do. You want to play meaningful games late in the season, and that's what drives teams to perform better even when they are far ahead.
Thin Margins, Thinner Centre Depth
Q: If I were to ask you to pinpoint what's gone wrong for the Canucks defensively, where would you start this season?
The injuries play a role, but the center position is crucial to their success. Without a healthy center, it's very hard for the team to defend effectively.
What’s Really Wrong With Vancouver?
Q: Is there a scenario where we could see Celebrini and Bedard both on Team Canada for the Olympics?
They both deserve spots, but whether they will be included depends on the veteran players on the roster.
What’s Really Wrong With Vancouver?
Q: What is your assessment of the Canucks defense this season?
The team defense has taken a beating, with critical lapses in structure leading to increased scoring chances against.
Plugging Holes with Bubble Gum
Q: So at what point does a conversation about the injuries... flip to seasons are lost because of injuries?
At some point, yes, you will have to consider that certain aspects might not be achievable and take a step back.
