Q: What advice do you give a young entrepreneur who's built the next big thing?
First, show me what you have and what market you built it for. It's essential to understand customer needs; great ideas must meet real market demands. Also, be prepared for the ups and downs of startup life.
S12 Bonus: David Sztykman, Hydrolix
Q: How did you approach thinking about scalability in the beginning? And have there been interesting areas where you had to fight it as you've grown?
Scalability was part of our DNA; we needed something that could dynamically scale for ingest and query. Early on, we faced challenges with stateful architecture when scaling up. After our Super Bowl experience, we went back to the drawing board and shifted to a stateless architecture to avoid losing data at scale.
