The first episode Crossing Guard is deeply beautiful. One of my favorite podcast episodes ever.
The subject matter of this podcast is amazing. So is the storytelling. The reason it’s not a five star review is that Bianca Giaever manages to enter herself and her break ups or anxieties in a way that’s very cringy. When talking about the bereaved wife of Franz Wright she says “she hopes she will grieve someone one day”. As someone who has lost loved ones I found this disrespectful of the guy wrenching pain that is loss.
