  • Fantastic pod

This really is excellent. We are spoiled with good physics podcasts and this is one of the best. The only “problem” for me is that i only discovered it last week so it will take me 18 months at least to go through them all. 12 down, 688 to go!

  • Ruined by "Webspeak"

This podcast bolsters my conclusion that nowadays academics are simply incapable of speaking for even five minutes without injecting "you know?", "right?", "sort of", "kind of", and "I mean". It's too bad, because, while the subject matter is interesting and the presenters seem knowledgeable, eventually this is all I could hear. So I've stopped listening.

  • This show went from an annoying up-talker co-host to a co- host Kelly who has the most upsetting shrill voice, and who needs to back-off the mic .... cease yelling into it !!!!!

Does the show editor not note the drastic change in octave levels between the two! I have to FF Yelly kelly input 😕

    ***Beware***

DO NOT listen with ear buds!

Stupid useless banter precedes every main topic.

Lose female co-host, she contributes zero to pod!

    Topics are interesting.

  • Really enjoyable

I truly love your content. I look forward to your show every night in hopes of there being a new one. I will admit there is a stark contrast in the tones of voice between Daniel and Kelly that could be tweaked in the editing, but I love what you both bring to the table for content and personality. Thanks for putting in the time and effort to research these topics so frequently and creating each episode. I hope to one day have a question worthy of dissection to submit. I’m not shy, I just don’t s... more

  • Excellent Podcast

This show truly is extraordinary. Daniel and Kelly make science both approachable and understandable, with a healthy dose of laughter. Most importantly and unlike some, they clearly articulate theory versus fact, as well as when science simply doesn’t have an explanation. Great show!

The contagious yawning could be part of a coordinating behavior thing, indicating it's time for everyone to rest or sleep.
Listener Questions #23
Q: Why is it that our fingerprints never change? Is that something that's encoded in our DNA?
The reason they never change is because the pattern is emerging from these buckles and those buckles in this middle layer will always stay the same as you get older.
How long have we been human? (featuring Dr. Scott Solomon)
Q: Can we talk about timeframe a little?
You start to see, let's see, I think you said that the split between chimpanzees and humans was like six to seven million years ago.
How long have we been human? (featuring Dr. Scott Solomon)
Q: What is the earliest date when there were other hominids around?
The question leads into whether or not we can get DNA out of any of these.
The physics of shadows
Q: What physics concept that you, when you think about, makes you think I just my brain can't really wrap itself around this fact?
Thermodynamics was a challenging topic for me as there's a lot of approximations and considerations involved.
