Excellent mix of golf arch, design, and theory. Really appreciate the focus on history, unlike most golf pods which lean PGA fanboy.
Not sure if PJ is an AI artifice to help hackers learn basics, but the Garrett tag team works.
This is currently the best Fried Egg pod.
What Garrett and Andy Staples fail to take into account in discussing match play is matches involving players of different skill levels. Because the Staple does not have a rating or slope, a player would not have a handicap for the course and the holes would not ranked. If both players are the same skill level, it doesn’t matter as much, but if a 5 is playing a 12, for example, it does matter.
Great job, Garrett. This is great enrichment to my golf experience. Keep up the great work
Hands down, this golf architecture podcast is the most compelling content on the internet right now. Every episode so far is a masterclass in what I never knew I needed to know about golf design. And, it’s delivered with intelligence from someone with an infectious personality! If you even remotely believe golf has a soul, this is where you’ll find it. Essentially listening. 5 stars.
