Q: I'm interested there you said that when children are more relaxed, they heal better. I wonder if you could talk a bit more about that.

Q: How did you get into this line of work?
My background is as a certified child life specialist and a recreational therapist.
The unexpected power of play: Healing children in humanitarian crises
Q: Could you explain a little bit about what that might look like for a specific child?
For every child, that's going to be different. We want to meet the child where their needs are.
"We built a hospital in a house": An MSF medic returns from Syria
Q: What sort of conditions were you seeing people coming to the hospital in a house?
They were coming in with everything from major trauma to burns and other common medical diseases.
"We built a hospital in a house": An MSF medic returns from Syria
Q: Can you tell me, so this is a community of people who've lived through a really, really long conflict that has devastated infrastructure. Where has that left people's access to health care?
Access to health is really very severely degraded in across Syria and particularly in places that are more remote.
