Julie and her podcast are phenomenal and helpful to those of us looking to help our dogs. She offers important information in short, easy to consume episodes. Additionally, her book is a welcome companion to this podcast so I highly recommend reading it. Thanks Julie!

I’m on a alone time desensitization journey with my dog, who suffers from pretty severe anxiety. However due to my own mental health roller coaster, I’ve been unable to keep up with the training. This podcast helped me lower the bar for myself and get back to it, which I’m incredibly grateful for. And the best thing about it is that my dog hadn’t regressed during the slump. He simply went: “oh this boring thing again, better go and get comfy”. Thank you!

Julie’s advise and education is truly amazing. You think you know or have had one way of training. But listening to her has truly changed my views on dog method trying forever.

I wouldn’t listen to any other SA expert you are simply the best. I feel you have all the knowledge we need to get us and our beloved canines through this.

After floundering on our own for nearly a year & dealing with the judgement of well-meaning others (including vets & sitters!), I’ve finally found Julie Naismith’s podcasts which are informative, factual & very supportive. In bite sized chunks, she imparts her huge knowledge as a professional but also as a fellow sufferer who’s been there done that, got the T-shirt (or in her case got the qualifications).

Julie is my go-to trainer for referring my separation anxiety clients. I can trust any dog (and human) will be treated with compassion with her and her methods.

I have spent over a decade with a dog who has extreme anxiety and separation related behaviours. Julie’s system is everything I needed and finally at 11 years old my dog is seeing progress. These podcasts are a great intro.

What I like about Julie’s advice is that it is realistic as well as helpful. It is not possible to stop your dog’s anxiety over night and you have to work on it. My first dog had really bad separation anxiety and it took about a year before he was comfortable being alone.

Have just wasted 25 minutes on the episode about crating. After putting lots of reasons why you shouldn’t use a crate - she finally offers an alternative to crating. Wait for it....

Never leave your dog. If you are never apart from your dog, the dog will never experience separation anxiety.

Good grief. Let me get a dog carrier for my spaniel & let my boss know a dog will be in the healthcare showroom at all times.
