  • I have a notebook for this podcast now.

There has never been a podcast I have ever had the desire to listen to twice, not even my all time favorite crime podcast. 😆 This podcast upped my garden game and now I am re listening to old episodes and taking notes.

    Things I learned about

Bugs-they aren’t all bad- except for aphids. Those guys are terrible

Water-plants need it, but I need to save it

    Compost

My orchids don’t actually hate me, they just need cooler temps to bloom.

A lot of succulents need seasons

    Being greener

    And sometimes ... more

FPGH 222: December To Do & Listener Q&A
Q: What do I do with my mandarin tree? The leaves are starting to curl, and I did not get as much fruit this year.
Check soil moisture, as insufficient water can cause leaf curl, and consider potential insect issues or pH imbalances.
FPGH 222: December To Do & Listener Q&A
Q: Should I do anything with the roots on the pomegranate tree?
If the roots are really root bound, tease them gently out to allow for new growth in the planting process.
FPGH 222: December To Do & Listener Q&A
Q: How can I keep the bugs off my white peaches?
Consider using a dormant oil spray to smother overwintering pests, and check for aphids as they often attract ants which protect them.
Flower Power Garden Hour 218: October To Do List and Listener Q & A
Q: What amendments would you recommend for junky soil where rice fields are, and the soil is clay that gets large cracks in the summer?
Add compost to improve the structure and moisture retention of clay soils; it will also help hold nutrients and prevent large cracks.
Flower Power Garden Hour 218: October To Do List and Listener Q & A
Q: Why is my pink polka dot plant sprouting new leaves but soon turning brown and wilting?
The problem could be overwatering, as fungus gnats feed on the roots, or it could be the plant's short lifespan. Make sure to water correctly from the top for better results.
