  • It’s about time

I remember reading an article David wrote in SI around 1998 as a kid and was amazed how smart, articulate and very insightful he was and it for sure made a huge impression on me that a player could be all those things. So really I’ve been waiting for him to write a book for like 20 years. Enjoying this preview and I hope there’s an audiobook!

  • Fantastic

Loved having Cone in the “middle of the diamond “. Such a great competitor.I remember him in Charleston Rookie League as cocky and awkward. The cockiness served him well throughout his career and the awkwardness turned to tenacity. Well done Jack and Coney.

  • Good Things Come In Small Packages

I’ve always been a fan of Jack Curry (God bless the internet). His CV is second to none and he knows his stuff.

As a fan of the NY Yankees I relish the games when David Cone is in the booth. His analysis is meticulous and spot-on. He has also embraced analytics and has no problem in using them during his stint. But he doesn’t use them to show what a smart-Alec he is - he knows that this is the future in baseball and he wants to help guide us.

  • Great work

Love listening to Coney, Kay and O’Neill on Yankees games. They mesh well together and compliment each other perfectly. Cone in my opinion would still make an excellent pitching coach, hopefully with the Yankees someday. Great job from Curry and Cone I believe this book to be a must read for all baseball fans.

  • Been waiting for Cone to do one of these

David Cone is absolutely brilliant when it comes to pitching (and baseball in general), and it shows in this podcast. Though, he wasn’t always so smart with his money, which I now know after episode 1 ... ha.
