Reviews

4.5 out of 5 stars from 34 ratings
  • Enjoyable

Very good podcast, excellent companion to the magazine, my only issue is that Patrick Prince is not a good interviewer, he tends to laugh quiet frequently to his own comments usually followed by an awkward silence by the interviewee. Otherwise it provides good information.

Jorma Kaukonen
Q: What memory of Woodstock do you have?
It's interesting because the festival has become so iconic that it's almost like it's standalone. There were a lot of festivals back then that didn't get the notoriety that Woodstock had.
Jorma Kaukonen
Q: Are you a nostalgic sort of guy? I mean, do you look back in a Woodstock, Altamont, maybe not so much, but do you look back and say, you know, what an amazing time?
I think I'm a nostalgic guy, but not in that way. I've been around for a long time, and I've had a chance to do a lot of amazing things. Some have been, some have been less fun than others, but it's all part of the story.
The Dollar Bin: Kimm Gardener of Channel 3
Q: What was the record that you first grabbed that you went, this is the one, I'm going to start collecting these?
Kim discusses the influence of music in his childhood and highlights The Rolling Stones and Kiss as pivotal in his journey to start collecting records.
Madison True of Vinyl Bitch
Q: Is there a record at the moment that you're searching for, like a used album, or a record that, you know, from the past, that you can't find?
Madison mentions she is looking for DJ Slugo's "Freaky Ride," a rare vinyl from the Chicago house scene, which she finds difficult to locate.
Madison True of Vinyl Bitch
Q: What made you get into vinyl as a format at first? Is it something you picked up from your parents?
Madison shares that while her family loved music, her passion for physical formats developed independently. She was given turntables that ignited her interest in DJing, leading her to prefer working with tangible music formats.
