Why has this stalled??? Love this show and the voice acting!
a cosy and morbid audiodrama composed of four short stories tied together by titular character. A nice listen.
I don’t know what I just listened to but I loved it. I’m so sad there’s not more of this.
I need for pods like this in my life. cozy wholesome spooky
Wish there were more episodes! Cozy, humorous, supernatural mysteries. Two sparky older ladies battling against the forces of darkness. Delightful.
About ten minutes into the first episode I realized that I KNEW I knew the voice behind Grandma Guignol - and it was the second time she said the name “Brenda” that it hit me: it was Anne Reid from Victoria Wood’s classic British BBC comedy series “Dinnerladies”. (Wood’s character is named Brenda.)
Reid has such a lovely and distinctive voice that she made it so easy for me to become completely absorbed in the story, and I have so many happy memories getting TV shows sent from the UK back in th... more
I love hearing these older women characters having such exciting (and mysterious) adventures! Wonderfully produced and acted too.
This is one of the best drama podcasts I’ve listened too. Anne Reid is fantastic and the whole series has echoes of Robin Jarvis’ Whitby Witches books. Fantastic storytelling that is compelling, engaging and extremely entertaining!
Fantastic characters that you begin to genuinely care about. Give it a listen, Duckie!
Super well written, eloquent & fun. It’s like your dear old grandma sitting you down by the fire & telling you enchanting stories.
Well done to all involved!
A lot of fun, give this series a go!
The adventures of the Bride of Frankenstein, who has retired to open a Bed & Breakfast in Whitby.
Written by Paul Magrs, the creator of Iris Wildthyme.
Very enjoyable stories involving demon cats, sinister ventriloquists, mummies, and a modern day elephant man.
It’s like a supernatural Miss Marple. I love Brenda and Effie’s friendship. The writing, acting, and score are wonderful. I hope they make more than one season!
It’s great to hear Brenda and Effie again! It’s like meeting up with old friends. They’re great fun. Highly recommend!
This podcast is an adapation of the Brenda and Effie Mysteries from Bafflegab Productions. I've listened to the first episode and it's setting up to be a cross between Miss Marple and X Files... not that I've seen either . Very entertianing.
