I’ve this podcast. It is deliberate, probing, and thorough, with a wide range of animal grazing scenarios. I love the line of questioning. The host always gets to the very practical and makes the guest explain themselves. This has become one of my favorites about grazing livestock.
I've been listening to this podcast for about two years when I decided to go into land stewardship with no prior experience. While some of the conversations are very deep into genetics, and equipment or practices and techniques that I knew nothing about, Cal made the topics accessible to a beginner. This podcast encouraged me to explore topics and try things that I wouldn't otherwise have been exposed to (all while getting other things done on my property thanks to the podcast format).
The wide ranging levels of experience from the guests makes this show valuable for all levels of graziers. Cal has a great ability to make the guests feel comfortable, and the conversations are very real.
I really enjoy listening. These guys have a lot of experience. I would recommend to anyone looking to advance their knowledge in ranching.
I haven’t listened to an episode where I haven’t learned something. Not all of the episodes correlate to what I do or want to do, but I definitely learn something with each episode. If you don’t learn something, you need to be on the other side of the mic from Cal and need to start teaching the rest of us. Great guests and content!!
