  • Good episode

This podcast is overall great I love it. I have listened to almost all of the episodes in 4 months and I love aviation. One piece of info I have for new listeners is whenever there’s a Maranda rage warning the crash will be because someone did something stupid witch led the plane to crash.

Episode 307: VJA597
Q: What is ultrasonic inspection and how is it done?
Ultrasonic inspection can be performed without removing airplane parts, using tiny wands that can access various surfaces. A conductive medium like a gel is applied, and the wand generates readings based on signals returned from the material, indicating if it is intact or if there are cracks or corrosion.
Episode 268: 2019 Alaska Mid-air Collision
Q: Could you explain what safety measures are in place to avoid a stall at takeoff and how I can feel more assured during takeoff?
Airplanes are designed to prevent stalling due to automation, and pilots are trained on emergency procedures for dealing with engine failures and stalls. The systems that aircraft use to alert pilots and ensure safe takeoff are robust and prevent occurrences of stalling and engine failures.
Episode 261: RC670
Q: By the time they figured out they had no spoilers, was it too late to do a go-around?
Kind of, as the go-around was not at any point considered in the analysis due to the circumstances.
Episode 235: SAS686/D-IEVX The Linate Airport Disaster
Q: What were the main factors leading to the collision in the Linate Airport disaster?
The collision was influenced by low visibility, high traffic volume, and a series of communication failures between the air traffic controllers and the pilots, as well as the improper operation of the airport's safety systems.
Episode 242: SWN294
Q: How could someone find out who they need to contact to volunteer for an airport's emergency response exercises?
They can contact the airport's non-emergency line or check local organizations to inquire about volunteering for emergency response exercises.
