Q: Can you talk about what this syndrome is, and the problems that come with it, and came with it in addition to, of course, the diagnosis?
Amelia explained that Li Fraumeni syndrome is a genetic condition caused by a mutation in the TP53 gene, which severely weakens one's ability to fight cancers. In Abby's case, the mutation was upwards of 90%, offering almost no protection against cancers.
