  • Love the pod! Small suggestion: Casey be aware that he sometimes steamrolls the conversation

Men tend to steam roll the conversations and I can tell Millie is shut out of conversations, especially when a guest joins

  • Yay!

I’m glad I waited to review the new pod until after I gave it some time. I think so many people jumped to possibly unfair opinions following the immediate end of ISWYD by comparing the two. I was obsessed with the former, but have come to love and appreciate the dynamic between Millie & Casey just as much. The banter has eased into their own flow, following the first few episodes where they were still finding their footing. Keep it up, friends. 🫶🏻

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989)! Plus, Johnny Pemberton!
Q: How is voice acting in comparison to live acting? Do you prefer one to the other or is it just kind of different things?
Voice acting is so much more difficult than live action acting. You have to generate everything that you're doing has to come through your voice.
Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989)! Plus, Johnny Pemberton!
Q: What do you think about like, this is sort of an offshoot of the non-actor, but like, when you can tell, I feel like this happens a lot where you can tell it's like the author of the book the movie is based on, like they have a line in the movie?
They feel shoehorned in and it's sort of like they're acting sort of stilted, but not quite like a non-actor.
Tetsuo: The Iron Man (1989)! Plus, Johnny Pemberton!
Q: Can you kind of explain exactly what that means to you?
It's when you see someone in a role who's clearly not an actor, but they're in a small role in a film and they are being used as an actor.
Rock Docs & DIG! XX (2024)! Plus, Craig Calcaterra!
Q: What about the inverse? Is there an athlete who is an incredible actor?
Kurt Russell because he was a baseball player and really good at acting, but ultimately, wrestlers like Dwayne Johnson and Dave Bautista have made a successful crossover too.
Rock Docs & DIG! XX (2024)! Plus, Craig Calcaterra!
Q: Who do you see as the best actor who plays an athlete?
The two dominant ones are Kevin Costner and Burt Reynolds, with Reynolds being a bit of a cheat as he played college football before becoming an actor.
