  • Top Notch

This is the most entertaining and informative metal podcast I’ve had the pleasure of listening to. The host, Jackie is a metal encyclopedia, and has a knack for doing the best interviews with some of the best guests from the extreme metal world. No stiff, boring interviews here, and his news rants are excellent.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

EPISODE 300: Frost (1349, Satyricon) & Marco (Stellar Master Elite)
Q: How can you define the physicality required for playing extreme metal?
It gives you that empowerment to know that if I direct my body in a certain way, or if I will that I'm going to do something, that I can actually put it off.
EPISODE 300: Frost (1349, Satyricon) & Marco (Stellar Master Elite)
Q: What first got you into yoga? Was it just the kind of rigors or the stress of playing on your body and needing to find a way to cope with that?
I have been fighting tendonitis and stiffness and fatigue for a very long time, which most extreme metal drummers do at some point, I guess.
Martin Koller On Founding Prophecy Productions, What He’s Learned About Running A Label & What He Looks For When Signing A New Band
Q: What are some of the biggest mistakes that you think new bands make?
A lot of the submissions we get, I wouldn't submit such a submission, where sometimes the music is great, but then you look up and realize they have hardly any audience.
Martin Koller On Founding Prophecy Productions, What He’s Learned About Running A Label & What He Looks For When Signing A New Band
Q: What do you look for in an artist nowadays?
The most important is still the same; I must have the feeling that when I listen and see the band, that the word stands still in a certain way.
Agnostic Front Legend Roger Miret on Echoes In Eternity, NYHC Legacy & “The Godfathers Of Hardcore"
Q: How are you feeling these days? How's your health?
I'm feeling great. My health is good right now and I get checked every six months.
