I released my first podcast in 2009. I was hooked and have been recording deep-dive conversations with interesting and creative people about what they do and why they do it ever since. I’m taking cues from some of my interview heroes like Dick Cavett, Johnny Carson, and Studs Terkel and distilling the conversations I record into one show. I’m calling it Almost Everything with Jeffery Saddoris and ... more

It took a bit to fire up, but once it did, the familiar rumble of my Dad’s 1974 Ford F100 took me right back to my childhood summers. As Art slowly backed the truck off of the trailer, Adrianne commented, “It’s smaller than I thought it would be, giv... more
I’ve shared this story before, and regardless of whether it’s true or just the stuff of photographic legend, it’s so good that I think it bears repeating every so often. The story goes that a photographer was presenting his portfolio to the great Jay... more
For a long time now — years, in fact — I’ve leaned toward the belief that I deserve to be paid for the creative work I do. And to be clear, I don’t think that’s unreasonable, at least not from a certain point of view. After all, in a capitalist syste... more
Yesterday, I had a heart-wrenching experience. I was out for a morning walk with Adrianne and Cooper when I spotted a bird flailing in the grass under a tree. As I got closer, it struggled to escape, its life force fading away. When it finally stoppe... more

Thank you for the Father Bill episode, hearing his voice at the end made me sob. I’m honored to say that he was a good friend of mine and there isn’t a day that goes by that I don’t think of something that he would love and reach for my phone and then remember that can’t call him 😥 I’m a big collector of his work and have collaborated with him on a few projects and just having his works around me everyday seems to bring me peace just like the man himself. He said in his last print interview “I ... more
Have you had ideas you knew where great - maybe even one image that starts the idea? But can’t move beyond that? I ‘ve decided it’s to ward off disappointment. Potential versus reality. R
You generated sparks- had to stop and go to notebook 📓 and write down … an idea for an image I am working on and ….the practice of working multiple projects at once. Thinking now that painters studios can be filled with works of varying completeness and vintage. Photography starts with click and the. development and maybe that’s how I avoided … great episode. R
Deep n meaningful and very funny at times. Especially the ones with Sean Tucker. Love love ❤️ these talks
I think transformative is the key word that AI removes from one’s art - How am I using two examples:
I haven’t used an AI generator program like Midjourney but Adobe has neural
Filters where you can take a color palette of just about anything and apply to your image. Similarly to a LUT or preset, it works well.
My RIP program QIMAGE Is using AI to sharpen and improve my prints. , here I don’t have a choice.
Thanks for the 💭. R
