Welcome to Jesuitical, a podcast for young Catholics hosted by two young, lay editors at America—Zac Davis and Ashley McKinless. Each episode features a guest who offers a unique perspective on faith, culture or current events. We also bring you some of the top (and maybe more obscure) Catholic news of the week. And we'll ask: Where do we find God in all this?

  • Too conservative

The episode against euthanasia showed me that this podcast has become far too conservative for me.

  • Quit the Leftist Politics

Good show in several respects, but you’re not competent discussing political matters without outing yourselves as auxiliaries of legacy media. Misrepresents the Catholic Church.

  • Discussion of priests in television progrms

Although I agree that Fr; Mulcahy is one of the best known and beloved priests in a television series, no one on the show mentioned Kevin Anderson as Fr. Francis Reyneaux in “Nothing Sacred.” Fr. Francis played a modern, post Vatican II priest in the late 90’s. The show was partially written by Fr. Bill Cain, S.J..

I kept waiting for some one to mention the show or Fr. Bill. But never heard any mention of this modern show.

  • Learn something every episode

I love the conversational tone of the hosts who have a sense of humor but also love of the faith and the Catholic church. They keep me informed about the latest news in the Catholic church and take a deep dive into many different interesting topics

Q: Have you noticed a closer alignment between the US bishops and the Vatican this year?
While there seems to be more alignment under Pope Leo's leadership, it is still too early to see the full impact. There has been a gap in enthusiasm between the Pope and US bishops, but recent events may be bridging that.

Q: How do we urge our US bishops to encourage pastors to speak out about the plight of immigrants in this country?
We should engage in dialogue from the ground up at our own parishes rather than relying solely on top-down directives from bishops. Encouraging personal conversations and highlighting existing bishop statements could also steer the conversation.
