Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Andy Nicholson
Q: Can you talk a little about the way you exited the band?
The way I exited the band was very difficult. I had gone from having the next two years of my life planned out to suddenly having no idea what I'm doing tomorrow.
Andy Nicholson
Q: What were some of the most surprising aspects of that transition to fame? Were there things you weren't prepared for?
The whole band started there were four friends doing it all together, but as it grew, they started to concentrate a little bit more on Alex as the lead singer.
Andy Nicholson
Q: Were there any thresholds that even you felt uncomfortable passing? How did the rest of the band feel about you taking pictures all the time?
I think it got to a point where nobody was even noticing I was taking photos.
Andy Nicholson
Q: What inspired you to start carrying a camera and documenting this period?
It was never about the equipment. It was about capturing the moment as it was happening.
Andy Nicholson
Q: Why did you decide to put this book out now?
I had the idea of doing the book maybe 10 years ago, and then worked on it, parked it, worked on it, parked it. As it got closer to it being 20 years, I found myself in life just in a place where I was ready to celebrate it.
