  • Great show

Keep up great work guys, your pod offers some different insights into financial topics than the many other shows I listen too. Had to listen to Joseph Stiglitz on 1.5x though to avoid skipping, recommend others might want to do the same if feeling it’s a bit slow as some great content there!

  • No more Jon Moynihan types please!

Love the show and presenter’s dynamic. But guest Moynihan (Thatcher favourite) was allowed to spout low regulation & low taxes propaganda for super posh rich like him. I’d hoped you guys would challenge him. No more political guests please.

How Worse Off Will You Be After the Budget?
Q: What score would you give the government out of 10 for their budget, how brave they were, and did you want more from them?
It's not a fail but certainly not an A+; it was a comfort zone budget lacking significant growth initiatives.
How Worse Off Will You Be After the Budget?
Q: So, is it right to be continuing to spend more money on welfare?
There needs to be reform of the welfare system to ensure that funds are effectively reaching those in need, as current systems aren't working optimally.
How Worse Off Will You Be After the Budget?
Q: If you saw this budget and didn't know anything about the party that published it or any of the marketing around it, which party would you say had made this budget and what would you say are their values and goals?
It sounds like a Labour budget because of the removal of the two-child limit and the tax increases aimed at welfare spending, but there's a conservative element in the increased headroom found.
Self-Employed: What You Need To Know
Q: What's the best way to manage your money when you're self-employed and your income varies month to month?
It's best to stick to a consistent withdrawal amount that reflects your necessary expenses, while saving excess income within the company.
Self-Employed: What You Need To Know
Q: What counts as permissible expenses?
Generally, permissible expenses need to be entirely necessary for running the business and not provide any personal benefit.
