  • Just what I’ve been looking for

M’s fan of 20+ years in the Midwest here, and I love listening to this show. It’s informative and entertaining all while feeling more like a casual conversation than your typical podcast. I can really relate to the hosts and that makes me actually want to listen rather than feeling like I just have to play it in the background so I can clear it from my “un-listened” list. Keep up the good work fellas, go M’s!

  • Feels like hanging out with friends who love ( but sometimes hate) the Mariners but with way better insights. Every episode leaves me laughing a little and knowing more about the team than when I started.

  • Nothing to write home about

The content is inconsistent. At times they are good but i get the feeling that when they rant and throw out F bombs they think they are cute or cutting edge when it’s mostly annoying. Lyle seems to be the smarter of the two and the show is better when he sticks to his strengths of analysis of tactics and Mariner moves without all the hyperbole.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 333: Mariners Miss Out On More Relievers + Would The Mariners Trade Colt Emerson For One Of These Stars? (Mailbag)
Q: How would you feel about trading Colt Emerson straight up for Tarek Scoobel or Ketel Marte?
If it's straight up for Scoobel, the answer is no, but for Marte, it's a harder decision because of Marte's proven success, although I still value Emerson highly.
Episode 333: Mariners Miss Out On More Relievers + Would The Mariners Trade Colt Emerson For One Of These Stars? (Mailbag)
Q: If it holds that teams value young big leaguers over prospects at the winter meetings, which Mariners big leaguers make the most sense to trade?
A likely candidate could be Harry Ford, or potentially a starter like George Kirby, depending on extension talks.
Episode 333: Mariners Miss Out On More Relievers + Would The Mariners Trade Colt Emerson For One Of These Stars? (Mailbag)
Q: Do you think Josh Naylor's slow guy base stealing skills are something that he could teach?
There are aspects of it that are teachable, but most players with low sprint speed are not swiping a high number of bases.
Episode 328: Thursday Was A Notable Day In Mariners History For Many Reasons + Mailbag
Q: With Cal Raleigh's participation in the WBC, do you think his load management will be handled differently this year?
The hosts debate the potential for Raleigh's load management, suggesting that increased DH days might relieve some of the toll on his knee, especially if they bring in someone like Jorge Polanco to share playing time.
Episode 328: Thursday Was A Notable Day In Mariners History For Many Reasons + Mailbag
Q: Is Taylor Ward now a potential target since he was traded away from the Angels to the Orioles?
The hosts discuss that while trading for Taylor Ward might not be feasible now, it could make sense closer to the trade deadline if the Orioles aren't performing well, as the Mariners could take advantage of that situation.
