  • Solid, Biblical Foundation for Healthy Churches in Missions

Great job proclaiming the importance of building up healthy churches overseas just as we want to do that here in the US. Pragmatic missiology not grounded in Scripture is more than problematic — it’s dangerous and leads to great harm for those we may have intended to help. I can’t wait to hear you guys dig in to how to apply these biblical principles to missions work.

This doctrine can provide comfort during discouraging times, reminding them that God is in control even when the results are not visible.
On God's Sovereignty and Missions (Ep. 59)
Q: How can a misunderstanding of God's sovereignty lead people to disobey the Great Commission?
Misunderstanding can lead to inaction, thinking that if God is sovereign, individuals are not needed in evangelism, overlooking the command to go and spread the gospel.
On God's Sovereignty and Missions (Ep. 59)
Q: AJ, how do we think about prayer in the missionary task in light of God's sovereignty?
Prayer is essential; underlying prayer for salvation is the belief that God is sovereign, acknowledging that only He can bring about salvation.
On Prioritizing Missions in the Church (Ep. 58)
Q: Why should local churches be careful about who they send as missionaries?
Gospel work is difficult; churches must verify that missionaries are qualified and will effectively assist in the mission.
On Prioritizing Missions in the Church (Ep. 58)
Q: What do you do with people that are just here for a little bit and then move on?
We want to learn from them, encourage them, and explore how to partner with them in the long term.
