After a year of living in Colombia, I not only craved the memory of the culture but also the knowledge of what the vast variety of music I experienced. This is for everything if you’re looking to practice your spanish listening skills, getting new music suggestions (they have a whole playlist on Spotify) or wanting to know the history of blackness in Latin(x) culture. Hands down my favorite Afro Latin podcast.
I keep feeling that the African component of the Latin-American identity is often times downplayed. Additionally, I love music, so I find the show great .
Y’alls differences and nuances in your experiences have been really cool to hear and understand. The invitation to think and mull over my own story has been heartily accepted, and I’m looking forward to future conversations and to feeling ‘the heat’ y’all spark up.
