Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 584 | "Train Dreams" | Nathaniel Arcand
Q: When you wrapped that scene, Nathaniel, do you realize that you've created something special?
I just was probably thinking of going home at that point. I don't really think too far ahead about the film.
Episode 584 | "Train Dreams" | Nathaniel Arcand
Q: So, Nathaniel, why do you think Jack shows Robert this kindness? Why is he showing him all of this?
Jack embodies the generosity of Native culture, where kindness and empathy are natural, reflecting the importance of nurturing relationships over material wealth.
Episode 583 | Dave Porter | Composer: Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul
Q: If you compare your work, Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Pluribus, is there one that's more difficult than the other?
For Pluribus, it's the first time we've started from scratch since Breaking Bad, which involved a creative process down to the studs.
Episode 583 | Dave Porter | Composer: Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul
Q: Did you know that the intro for Breaking Bad was going to be that iconic?
No, certainly not. It was more a tribute to the show than it is the piece, I think.
Episode 583 | Dave Porter | Composer: Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul
Q: How often are your run-ins with actors? Does it happen a lot?
Sadly, it's pretty rare because composers are pretty much last in the process.
