Nature Check is a show where scientists play TTRPGs. Through our games, we hope to show you that scientists are real people with bawdy senses of humor and creative solutions to problems. We also hope to use our game worlds to talk about real issues in biology, ecology, environmental science, scientific research, and society.

The way that Arda is interwoven into a story but still giving science and using the knowledge of real world facts to create biomes and little worlds for creatures astounds me! Sheryl does not hold back when it comes to the world and the things you will learn, and the random science facts are great way to learn without feeling like you were being schooled.
Such a fun and educational podcast! Not only do you get to watch D&D for the Arda campaign but every session you get to see people who are extremely smart explain some of their favorite passions in science. Highly recommend!

The DM is wonderful at painting pictures you can see vividly and each character is unique and three-dimensional. From the beginning moments I felt like I could smell the salt of the sea air and hear the bustle of the crowd and see the colors of the docks the characters began in…Just a wonderful listen and I’m excited to ... more
