  • Hitting a HR with the team?!?

Glad to have found your pod… as a lifelong Pirate fan that was fortunate enough to be a little Bucco when they won in 79… it has been a struggle for most of the years since!!! You all bring a refreshing look to a team that needs quite a bit of squinting to see the positives. Keep up the great work and maybe just maybe we will be playing some games that count in October soon!!! Let’s go Bucs!!!

These guys are fun to listen to. I wasn’t a baseball fan growing up. Since moving to Pittsburgh about 10 years ago, I’ve grown to love/be disappointed by the Buccos. Found a couple podcasts that cover the Pirates and this is the one I like the most. Entertaining and informative coverage. They talk about Baseball like regular people unlike certain loud mouth, irritating radio hosts who may or may not be a “super genius”. Keep up the great work fellas. The only criticism I have is the opening musi... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

MLB Winter Meetings AMA w/ Jolly Olive
Q: Speaking of Japanese talent, which is a better fit for Pittsburgh? Murakami or Okamoto?
Okamoto, who's more of the traditional contact bat, might be a better fit for the Pirates as they struggled with strikeouts last year.
MLB Winter Meetings AMA w/ Jolly Olive
Q: Would the Mets be interested in any Mitch Keller trade?
The Mets would be interested in Mitch Keller for his length and innings, but there's a need for another move to facilitate that trade.
MLB Winter Meetings AMA w/ Jolly Olive
Q: If the Pirates give Pete the four plus years he wants, do you think that he signs with the Pirates even if the Mets offer a higher annual average value?
Pete's going to go where he's wanted and to the highest bidder because he didn't have that opportunity last offseason.
MLB Winter Meetings AMA w/ Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Q: Is there any indication that the Pirates are truly fishing in the deep waters, for example, Alonzo, etc., or Schwarber, an aspirational wishlist item that they were willing to break the bank for?
I don't see them going in on Alonzo... I don't think it's aspirational; I think when you see things that like, oh, they're in on this guy, they're following, it became real when they made an offer.
MLB Winter Meetings AMA w/ Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
Q: Do you think the Pirates will make a move by the end of the winter meetings?
I think so. I do, and I think it makes the most sense for them to do is a reliever.
