  • I love sea shanties but….

This is one of my favorite podcast, definitely my favorite sailing pod but Please stop playing all of the sea shanty song at the end. I liked the music at first but bc it’s the same song and the whole 27min of it I can’t take it anymore. I’m doing things when I’m listening and stopping or fast forwarding is not an option always. Try 20 or 30 seconds.

  • I love this show

I’m a long time armchair sailor and I love the variety presented in this show. Andy does such a great job of getting the best out of such a broad range of people and making sailing the most interesting pastime. I think will have to take a trip on one of your boats !! Keep up the good work. X

Ari Huusela // First Finn to Finish the Vendée Globe
Q: Do you think that the weather has actually become worse in the last years?
Yes, I'm sure it has been since 50 years, it has, it has changed to the worst direction.
Ari Huusela // First Finn to Finish the Vendée Globe
Q: Do you think you will ever go around the world again? Does it tempt you at all to do a, around the world comeback?
I don't think so. I'm super happy that I was able to finish it on the first hit.
Ari Huusela // First Finn to Finish the Vendée Globe
Q: How do you limit yourself in any ways to stay safe and to keep the boat in sellable condition?
Yes, of course, I had to sail very conservatively. I didn't push the boat too hard and was quite north to avoid the worst weathers.
Ari Huusela // First Finn to Finish the Vendée Globe
Q: Did you kind of need a, need a little break from the ocean after that? Is that why you've been seeking the land?
Yes, actually, that has been my dream quite a long time to have my own campervan and drive around with a camper. And I do off-piste skiing and ski randonneur. This is the best way to do it.
Matt Rutherford // On Adventure, Fear & Solo Sailing Around the Arctic
Q: How do you balance the desire to do something which is kind of purely selfish with everything else?
Rutherford believes that pursuing personal adventures can be justified as they are a part of personal growth and can promote his nonprofit's goals.
