In this episode I replay interviews from the summer of 2012 on the theme of the future. James Howard Kunstler and John Michael Greer were my guests when my show was called Religion For Life. We learned about Peak Oil, economic contraction, the "apoca... more
James Howard Kunstler is a writer and a critic of culture. I first saw him in the documentary The End of Suburbia which came out in 2004. You can find it on-line but what you find is an edited version. The longer version is the version I recommend. I... more
Made by an anti vaxxer who died from COVID-19. Full of conspiracy nonsense.
Chemtrails, 9/11, false flag operations, Covid hoaxes, the Great Reset and the evil doings of the cabal of elites and their sheepie minions. John Shuck covers them all, and if you doubt his word, or are disturbed by his lack of proof, his reliance on rumour, YouTube and paranoia, well you must be "asleep". The reason there is no hard evidence for his ranting is because "they" have suppressed it. A neat way to get aroujnd the glaring holes in his "theories".
John wants you to trust him when he... more
I remember when leftists were spiritual. That day is gone. Gubmint is their god now. Progs get off on controlling other people.
It’s been awhile since I listened, but having found this podcast to be so helpful and thought-provoking when I first discovered it, as a left-leaning Christian in 2016, I thought I’d revisit it now during the pandemic. And all I can say is... what??!!!! John Shuck is fully down the rabbit hole now, as much a conspiracy theorist as Alex Jones and just as damaging in his rhetoric. In the latest episode, he is describing the pandemic as a hoax. Please. I know people who have had life-altering COVID... more
You will hear guests such as the Honourable Norman Finkelstein
Here’s to brave voices who speak their truth. In the soft totalitarian state that the “free west” has strategically become, at least a show like this can still exist for now. At its heart it actually flies the flag for the human species and the planet as a whole versus nationalism and the seductive culture of individual exceptionalism of which America is the gold standard pied piper.
So on the surface, because it doesn’t unconditionally cheerlead the USA, the show’s views could be accused of b... more
I am not a Christian, but as a human being trying to live as a moral ethical person, I personally find this podcast invaluable for my learning, maybe more importantly, I find great emotional support in hearing others who are also struggling to face our current situation with courage and hope, combined with a dedication to reality. There is no hiding, or denying, here.
Which, of course, is very frightening, and if you are hearing and facing these things for the first time and trying to face them... more
Refreshing to hear a progressive program that’s not afraid to question the government narrative. The listeners that disparage you for giving guests a voice concerning the deep state or 9/11 truth are mind control victims. Get rid of your televisions folks.
Im shocked that you gave the 9/11 authors your time. I’ve enjoyed you podcast for some time but you have now destroyed my trust and respect by giving these nuts your attention. They play the tired and midleading game of using very small inconsistencies to suggest an enormous conclusion.
I enjoy this podcast a great deal. Well done.
I am a progressive liberal person, but the host believes in conspiracy theories and the “deep state.” He believes in 9/11 conspiracy theories. He’s just like the right-wing guys, just progressive.
It’s among my first top 3 podcast subscriptions. It’s thought provoking, inspiring and full of understanding that is critical for human fulfillment.
Thank you for providing a wonderful resource.
John's skill as an interviewer is both analytical and empathetic. His passion for social justice and compassion for his interview subjects really come through.
This is the best radio program on religion I know. It approaches the topic from an educational perspective, and the conversations between host John Shuck and his guests are interesting and meaningful. I thoroughly enjoy this.
