  • Grifter

It’s sad because McFillin starts with a nugget of truth and levies valid criticisms of psychiatry. And then he takes it waaaaaaaay too far. Rog- have you considered getting some therapy? If so, ask about projection.

217. The Harms of SSRI's During Pregnancy Debate w/ Dr. Adam Urato and Dr. Robert Chen
Q: Why should patients be aware of the potential risks and benefits associated with SSRIs?
Patients need to understand that SSRIs may disrupt serotonin and fetal development, affecting both mother and baby, thus making informed decisions about their health is crucial.
217. The Harms of SSRI's During Pregnancy Debate w/ Dr. Adam Urato and Dr. Robert Chen
Q: Why would any pregnant woman be on an SSRI or any woman who was intending to be pregnant, be on an SSRI at all?
The absence of evidence does not necessarily mean evidence of absence; it's difficult to make a clear decision given the ethical concerns around randomized controlled trials in pregnant women.
215. This is What Happens When You "Medicate" Grief with Mary Ann Kenny
Q: What do you think you really needed at that time if we can go back?
What I needed was rest and care, someone to take care of me and my children while I recovered from my devastating loss, rather than engaging with the medical system.
215. This is What Happens When You "Medicate" Grief with Mary Ann Kenny
Q: You eventually took an SSRI. What led you to making that decision?
Mary Ann felt impatient with her grief and believed she had tried every other option, leading her to seek an antidepressant prescription from her GP after hearing suggestions from others.
214. When the Body Holds What the Mind Can't with Inna Segal
Q: How do you understand what it means for someone to be 'stuck'?
Stuckness indicates that one's inner self is overwhelmed by past experiences and trauma, making it difficult to move forward.
