  • Critical industry insight into the energy transition

As a long-time listener to this podcast (and many others) on the energy transition, I particularly appreciate the straight talking investor perspective on the opportunities and challenges facing the sector. In a space full of well intentioned but uncritical advocates for change, I appreciate Gerard and Laurent’s willingness both to stress the fundamental opportunity as well as call out the worst of the BS that misalign capital allocation and harm progress.

Q: Amani, can you sort of expand a little bit on that in the sense that what I'm really interested in, when you talk about PPAs, you're talking really about short-term PPAs.
The short-term PPAs facilitate agility in the market, allowing hedge opportunities and dampening price spikes when there are unforeseen market movements.
