  • Incessant unrelated audio clips ruin the show

Frank presents a ton of useful, well-researched information about investing. However, his almost unceasing use of unrelated audio clips from old movies and tv shows make it impossible to enjoy the show.

  • I downloaded a few episodes today Sept 29,2025. I got less than 5 minutes in and can't stand the movie lines and sound bits added in. They were in the middle of reading an email that was sent in and kept stopping the dictation of the email to play stupid sound bites. It was terrible and unconsumable for me which is a shame because Frank is such a pillar of the ChooseFI Facebook community.

I listened to a couple episodes of this podcast. The format is unconventional. You will either find it incredibly entertaining or terribly annoying. I’m not sure yet where I stand.

Episode 469: Risk Parity For Charity, Managing Indvidual REITs, And Reverse Glidepaths
Q: How do you think about and plan your charitable giving?
Charitable giving should be personal and unique to each individual, combining creativity and the desire to form new relationships while contributing.
Episode 470: Short Term Bonds, A Growth Plan For A Late Starter, A Birthday Wish And Portfolio Reviews As Of December 5, 2025
Q: How can I best protect myself from the potential risks while ideally generating 8-10% average annual returns over the next 10 years?
You need to focus on investing essentially in 100% stocks because you need the growth out of it and adding extraneous things like MLPs or REITs or bonds or even gold are not likely to help you.
Episode 468: Revisiting Listener Gambling Problems, Canadian Considerations, And A Visit To the Father McKenna Center
Q: Am I barking up the right tree?
Yes, your portfolio allocations look good for a withdrawal rate strategy.
Episode 468: Revisiting Listener Gambling Problems, Canadian Considerations, And A Visit To the Father McKenna Center
Q: What say you, hedged or unhedged gold for a Canadian investor?
It makes more sense to buy gold in Canadian dollars to avoid exchange rate factors.
Episode 466: TDFs, Managed Futures, Complex Trading Strategies, STRIPS And TIPS
Q: How would you feel about someone reducing their bond allocation in something like VGLT and replacing it with ZROZ?
Yes, you can do that, as ZROZ can serve a similar purpose but with more volatility.
