I really enjoy the style and important, meaningful content. But I find that the sound levels are disproportionate; I have my headphones adjusted as low as I can to hear the narration and then suddenly I am blasted by sound effects. After noticing this is the norm, I find that I am on edge while listening and so am not able. 😔
Best podcast on the internet! I like to listen while I’m out walking my dog. Once the episode is over, I take out my earbuds and just think!
Normally podcasts serve as entertainment for me while I do repetitive chores or walk the dogs. One minute into this and I had to sit and focus my full attention on it. Vaughn Hood’s an amazing man and tells his story extraordinarily well. The music is perfect. Erica has produced something everyone should hear.
This show was about my generation. (Many men in my age group were drafted and only some returned.) What Mr. Hood had to say was enormously moving. He clearly had tremendous resilience. I hope he completes his book and that I will be able to read it.
This is one of the most extraordinary podcasts out there. Erica and her guest interviewees capture Vermont and its citizenry so perfectly in its (and their) uniqueness. Beyond the uniqueness that is very Vermont, there is a common humanity on display that’s there in us no matter where we live. Such depth and humor and glorious ordinariness.
