  • An outstanding podcast on baby sleep!

Really impressed with the quality and depth of the material in this podcast - I had previously purchased a book and a sleep course from other sources, both of which go into less detail than this podcast makes available for free.

The bases on which all sleep advice is provided are sound and trustworthy (not the case for all sources on baby sleep online), and best of all, it works! I can only highly recommend it!

  • Such a helpful, easy-to-digest resource!

Every episode is so straight to the point, with good humor and lots of encouragement for parents. It’s been very helpful on my journey with a newborn, and I also listen to the episodes about older kiddos so I know what’s to come!

  • $70 for Newborn sleep guide ?

I’ve been listening to Erin’s podcast for a bit. At first it seems like a lot of info bc different rules apply to different ages but I’ve been taking notes to make order of it. I also really appreciate how she gets in to the topics pretty quickly instead of talking. about her personal life (many podcasts do not). Out of curiosity went over to her website to check out her sleep guide PDF….$70 for the newborn guide ! I think that’s nuts. On another note, she had a guest, Jenny Best, who used the b... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Q&A: Nap Length, Wake Windows, Separation Anxiety & Early Mornings
Q: My baby is three and a half months. Can you describe a proper sleep schedule for her?
Focus on wake windows rather than rigid schedules; aim for an hour and 15 minutes leading to the first nap, and an hour and a half for subsequent naps, with bedtime between 6:30 and 8:30 p.m.
Q&A: Nap Length, Wake Windows, Separation Anxiety & Early Mornings
Q: My nine month old has consistently been waking at 5 a.m. every day. Do you have tips for getting her to sleep later?
Consider implementing a more static 9 a.m., 2 p.m. nap schedule to help break the cycle of early wake-ups, adjusting the naps to ensure your child is not overtired at bedtime.
Q&A: Nap Length, Wake Windows, Separation Anxiety & Early Mornings
Q: Do you have tips for a 19-month-old who's experiencing a lot of separation anxiety at bedtime?
Maintain a consistent bedtime routine to help your child feel safe, and avoid falling back into old habits like rocking them to sleep as this may create sleep crutches.
Q&A: Nap Length, Wake Windows, Separation Anxiety & Early Mornings
Q: What are the wake windows for a 10-month-old?
Most 10-month-olds do best with just under three hours of awake time before their first nap, about two hours and 45 minutes, then three hours to their second nap, and then three hours before bed.
Q&A: Nap Length, Wake Windows, Separation Anxiety & Early Mornings
Q: My 18 month old has been on one nap per day for a few weeks, but only ever naps an hour and a half. How can I get her to sleep for two to three hours instead?
Your child might just never be the two to three hour napper; some babies are going to have an hour and a half nap, which is still restful. It's important to have an earlier bedtime if your child is only napping for an hour and a half.
