I would love if he asked much more about the artist’s process from start to finish and how they come up with their imagery, and in general what they think about while in the studio. It would be great if he started with that and THEN meandered. As is, sometimes the conversation never leads to substantive studio talk. I also wish he spoke less about himself and focused more on the artists.

I am so happy to have stumbled upon this podcast. Host Brian Alfred brings genuine warmth and gentle humour to these compelling, conversations with artists and effortlessly creates an intimate airspace that always leads to something golden (…see what I did there ;) at some point in the dialogue. Alfred gets under the surface of the artwork without pretension which allows the listener to have an often very relatable experience of what it is to be an artist making work today.

I love this podcast! The inclusion of music alleviates the focus on purely the visual which could get oppressive. An interesting take. All of the stories and personal histories are wonderful to hear and are inspiring. Occasionally the host’s view towards Christianity gets a bit bitter but he’s otherwise kind, generous, and a funny, delightful interlocutor👏.
