  • One of the very best interviewers on the planet!

His soft spoken and gentle manner belies an ability to cut deep. He made Josh Brolin cry and David Mamet storm off in an inarticulate rage. His preparation is phenomenal. He is truly an exceptional interviewer and human being.

  • A new favorite

Sam asks insightful questions with respect that the guests clearly appreciate. His voice is a pleasure to listen to. As soon as I finish an episode, I’m already looking forward to the next one. (I’m a Fresh Air listener who was introduced to the show through the wonderful interview with Terry Gross.)
