Over the years, many people have started podcasts about their shows but when I listen to Charisma, it really feels like she was made to create a Podcast. She is passionate, funny, cares deeply about the character she portrayed in the show and she knows what she’s talking about!
I’m really hoping I can come back and edit this review with a higher rating. I was thrilled when Charisma announced she was doing a Buffy/Angel podcast, and then immediately disappointed when it was only first available on Patreon. I tried to follow there, but for me the best thing about podcasts is being able to listen while doing something else with my phone closed. On Pateon, it’s a video, I have to keep my phone open the whole time, it drains the battery and I can’t listen while driving. So ... more
all i have to say is: Cordelia would feel the same way about the current administration and political climate that Charisma does.
I really want to like this, but Charisma’s disdain for the current administration constantly bleeds into her commentary. We get it. You hate Trump. Let it go.
Edit: I finally gave up. This podcast should be called I Hate Trump and Anyone Who Voted for Him. She can’t get through one podcast without complaining about her hate for Trump or for anyone who doesn’t think like her. Literally the last podcast was on only 10 minutes when she went on one of her rants.
This series is early on and I’m so excited to keep listening because it’s both very fun and cathartic to hear Charisma’s takes on things, but also explain background that even super fans wouldn’t know. I find this a very honest response to rewatch and reaction from a main cast member and if you’re a basic BtVS fan, you’d listen as a prerequisite: but all peripheral woman hero types relish this specific rewatch.
