  • Informative and Wide-ranging

Great introduction to cinema history through close analysis of one film. Best recommendation I can give, is that it made we want to revisit films I haven’t seen in a long while and to try out films that were unfamiliar to me.

  • Excellent Podcasting

Dr. Carl Sweeney and Raquel Stecher do a wonderful job discussing movies from different movements and from around the world. Even if you are not able to view the movie being discussed, it is well worth the time to listen. Carl and Raquel provide a lot of context and connections to other films. Very enjoyable and informative.

  • Carl and Raquel—always fascinating and entertaining

Some of my favorite episodes of Carl Sweeney’s “The Movie Palace” podcast were when Raquel Stecher was his guest. They’re both expertly knowledgeable about film, and make a natural team with entertaining discussions. Each time I listen to them I come away with knowledge that enhances my viewing of any film they discuss.
