  • I love the pod but …

… please don’t call it a red box of lasers. We have enough problem with yahoos in Congress and space lasers. Artificial star has a much better ring to it. Keep up the wonderful work.

  • Like the content but it sounds like high school hosts.

I enjoy the content of the Debrief. Great reporting but this show sounds like it’s hosted by high schoolers. I feel like the great stories are buried under Star Trek references and random sci-fi tropes that I’ve heard a thousand times before.

Total admit that it could be my age (40’s) and I’m not the demographic for the show - which is just fine.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Legends vs. Canon: The Evolution of Star Wars Lore
Q: How might the Star Wars universe continue to evolve across the different media?
I think I'm going to have to go with the last one. I think because Disney bought it and all they care about is pumping out IP, they don't seem to have washed their hands of previous canon.
The Science Behind Science Fiction | An Interview with Dr. Erin Macdonald
Q: If somebody wanted to be a science advisor for a film or TV crew, what would your advice to them be?
You've got to be a consumer of media. That's something that scientists sometimes overlook because understanding different genres of stories is crucial.
The Science Behind Science Fiction | An Interview with Dr. Erin Macdonald
Q: Could you tell us a little bit more about how you transitioned from your college studies to where you ended up being a science advisor for Star Trek?
I went and I did a PhD, but I never really even then was like, oh, I want to be a professor or I want to do this. I started going to conventions and realized that the job of a science advisor is something I wanted to do.
Kids Love Quantum Physics | An Interview with Chris Ferrie
Q: Do you have any sort of process to differentiate when you're writing like a book for adults versus a book for kids?
I don't differentiate much; I approach it from a perspective of simplifying complex ideas, regardless of the audience.
Kids Love Quantum Physics | An Interview with Chris Ferrie
Q: Can you give us, in your opinion, what you've seen as the worst case of quantum hype or quantum bullshit?
One example is a book called Quantum Love which falsely applies quantum concepts to relationships and has gained popularity despite its misleading content.
