  • A truly first rate podcast by two Doctor Who fans who really love the show.

I discovered this podcast within the last year and it has become a firm favourite. The thoughtful discussions about the show are well balanced and also highlight the best aspects of the programme that we have grown up with and admire so much. Dave’s love of the Hartnell era and Rob’s appreciation of Davison is great to hear for an old school fan like me. The list makers episodes are always really interesting as they show that everyone has a different take on what makes the programme tick, what w... more

  • They don't really like the current show

Which is fine if you don't. However, I'd rather listen to a podcast of fans giving critical takes from that perspective (plenty out there) than a couple of old guys who made it their identity but seem a bit weary about it all now. Not my cuppa tea.

  • A Great Contextual Doctor Who Podcast

Rob and Dave put together a great show here. Much like a DVD box set you come for the main show and stick around for the bonus extras. There’s some really good stuff to enjoy from two guys steeped in the classic era of Doctor Who and its always just about the episodes - there are discussions on writers, books, audios, and even old stage plays. Check out their 60th anniversary episode on their respective fan experiences which is just a delight.

INTERVIEW: Doctor Who Myths and Legends: The Reeltime Pictures Story
Q: How do you think Reeltime managed to maintain that working relationship with actors, writers, and other creatives without the BBC backing?
It was likely easier because they were early organized fans who genuinely cared about the show, allowing them to foster connections with those involved in creating Doctor Who.
INTERVIEW: Doctor Who Myths and Legends: The Reeltime Pictures Story
Q: What drew you to Realtime Pictures as a subject worthy of an entire book?
It started with my previous book where I got to know Keith Barnfather, and his insights sparked my interest in delving deeper into Realtime's story.
Rob and Dave Unplugged 4
Q: What would give you joy to the world in this year's Christmas special?
I would like to see a good adventure that doesn't feel the need to be saying every five minutes, don't forget it's a Christmas special.
Rob and Dave Unplugged 4
Q: So what would it take to get you to attend a live Doctor Who event?
A lack of interest is the simple answer. I became quite blase about meeting actors after meeting many celebrities in my working career.
