  • Exceptional

Much like its corresponding magazine, I’ve found The FA Interview to be not only informative, but fascinating. Dan Kurtz-Phelan is a top-tier host, and featured guests offer unique perspectives and biases on a range of issues. The show is a wonderful tool in developing and understanding one’s own worldview.

  • Disappointed. Robert O’Brien?

The latest show was shocking. I believe that your listeners are well-educated, more open minded than average population and willing to hear POVs that go against their own. However, "The strength of Trump foreign policy" was such a cheap Maga propaganda that was terrible. Low level, unintelligent, nauseating even. I expected more from you.

  • This is the one

Outstansing show. Host is neutral and eloquent. Guests are informed experts. No agenda. No bias. Other global affairs podcasts should take note. Always a joy to listen.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Age-Old Contest Between Land and Sea
Q: Do you see the current Sino-Russian relationship as an enduring one, or do you see deeper tensions there that will ultimately upset it?
China and Russia will always be enduring neighbors, but longstanding historical grievances mean that deeper tensions may eventually resurface as China aspires to greater regional hegemony.
The Age-Old Contest Between Land and Sea
Q: What do you think most of us are missing about the nature of geopolitical power?
The current discourse misses fundamental historical insights into how great powers interact and compete, which have existed across different eras.
The Strength of Trump’s Foreign Policy
Q: How do you see Trump's strategy in the Middle East and what do you think about negotiations with Iran?
Trump aims to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and has a strategic approach in negotiations, believing there's an opening for peace if Iran would indeed give up their weapons.
The Strength of Trump’s Foreign Policy
Q: What is Trump's plan for ending the war in Ukraine?
Trump believed the war would be resolved quickly and offered several concessions to Russia, but underestimated their commitment to continue the fight as they are using less valued soldiers.
The Strength of Trump’s Foreign Policy
Q: Do you think it would be a mistake to turn this into a regime change operation in Venezuela?
It may become a regime change operation as a result of taking out the drug cartels, but I think the focus is on stopping drug imports and not necessarily on regime change.
